Savannah Classical Academy is a high performing K-12 Public Charter school in Georgia. They are seeking a History/Social Studies Upper Grades Teacher responsible for creating lesson plans, maintaining a positive classroom environment, and facilitating home-school communication.

Responsibilities
Demonstrates mastery of related subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials for course(s) taught
Creates lesson plans, aligned with current state standards, which drives instruction through formative assessment and differentiation
Monitor and maintain a positive classroom environment that supports the school wide behavior expectation
Uses available technology to enhance the students' learning experiences
Attends and participates in faculty meetings and extra-curricular/school related activities
Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates behavior that is conscientious and responsible
Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the CEO
Follows professional practices consistent with school policies in working with students, students' records, parents, and colleagues
Facilitates home-school communication by such means as a communication folder, scheduling conferences, telephoning, and sending written communications
Demonstrates professional practices in teaching:
Models correct use of language, oral and written
Demonstrates accurate and up-to-date knowledge of content
Implements designated curriculum and grade level standards
Maintains lesson plans as required by school policy
Assigns instructional tasks and homework to students
Takes precautions to protect records, equipment, materials, and facilities
Qualification
Required
Education Level: Four year degree from an accredited college or university with teaching certification
Experience, Skill, and Certification: Classroom teacher experience
Knowledge of best instructional practices
Ability to successfully lead and coach adults
Eligible for Leadership Certification

Utilizes a variety of effective instructional and management techniques

Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the CEO
Follows professional practices consistent with school policies in working with students, students' records, parents, and colleagues
Facilitates home-school communication
Preferred
Experience working with children in a Georgia school setting as a core content classroom teacher
