The role involves collaboration with network administrators in Azure and AWS environments to ensure network availability, optimization, and security while automating processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

Responsibilities
Manage and support Cisco and Fortinet network appliances both physical and virtual (FortiGate Firewalls, Cisco ASA, Cisco Switches, FortiWeb WAFs)
Manage and support cloud infrastructures – AWS, Azure, Oracle Cloud
Support and create virtual firewalls and WAFs located in cloud providers (AWS and Azure)
Lead network device upgrades and migrations
Troubleshoot complex network issues across all cloud provider platforms
Design and maintain network segmentation to support PCI DSS requirements
Support PCI audits by providing diagrams, evidence, and technical explanations
AWS and Azure cloud network routing concepts (Transit Gateways, Route Tables, Security Groups, EC2)
Prepare, review, and implement network changes via change control procedures to the current non-production and production environments in Cantaloupe’s AWS and Azure infrastructures
Design, implement, and maintain secure, highly available enterprise networks (LAN/WAN)
Leverage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate and streamline the deployment, configuration, and management of network infrastructure
Utilize software tools for packet analysis such as Wireshark and Snort
Employ monitoring tools including Forti Analyzer, NewRelic, SolarWinds
Use terminal tools like PuTTY, SecureCRT, and MobaXterm for SSH/Telnet access
Conduct network discovery and scanning with tools like Nmap and OpenVAS
Perform diagnostics with ping, traceroute/tracert, nslookup/dig, ipconfig/ifconfig, netstat
Implement automation using Python (and libraries like Netmiko, Nornir), Ansible, Postman for API testing
Implement cloud visibility solutions with AWS CloudWatch and Azure Network Watcher
Qualification
Required
Network engineering: 7-10+ years (required)
Routing, switching, and firewalls: 10+ years (required)
Experience with enterprise networking vendors (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet)
Cloud experience AWS/Azure/OCI: 5+ years of experience
Direct experience supporting PCI DSS compliance in production environments
Familiarity with network protocols and services (BGP, IPSEC VPNs, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP protocols)
Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts
EPL point-to-point circuit experience
Hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment
Relevant certifications such as CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional), AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty, or similar are required
Experience with version control systems such as Git and GitHub for configuration management
Proficiency in documentation tools like Visio for network diagrams and other network documentation tools
Skilled in editing configuration files using text editors like Notepad++ and Sublime Text
