Government Contracts/Intellectual Property Attorney

US Federal Government is seeking an experienced Attorney with expertise in Government Contracts and Intellectual Property to support their Contracts Division. The role involves reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts, as well as managing related agreements and ensuring compliance with legal standards.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Reviews, drafts, and negotiates contracts; issues solicitations; administers contracts; manages contract terminations; and performs other related functions
Plans and oversees business contracts and related agreements
Experience working with intellectual property contracts and agreements, with particular emphasis on licensing (including image licensing, product development licensing, and similar areas) and publishing
Knowledge of copyright and trademark law principles, as well as licensing practices
Skill in planning, negotiating, and administering federal and/or commercial contracts
Knowledge of contract administration procedures, including change orders, contract terminations, and relevant precedents sufficient to evaluate contractor claims, resolve disputes, and negotiate settlement agreements
Strong written and oral communication skills (e.g., drafting contracts, agreements, and reports)

Required

Minimum of 2 years of experience in government or commercial contracts
At least 6 months of experience in government contracts and/or intellectual property
Experience drafting a wide variety of agreements to support projects and programs
Must be able to commit for at least 6 months
Experience working with intellectual property contracts and agreements, with particular emphasis on licensing
Knowledge of copyright and trademark law principles, as well as licensing practices
Skill in planning, negotiating, and administering federal and/or commercial contracts
Knowledge of contract administration procedures, including change orders, contract terminations, and relevant precedents sufficient to evaluate contractor claims, resolve disputes, and negotiate settlement agreements
Strong written and oral communication skills (e.g., drafting contracts, agreements, and reports)
JD required
Must be able to pass a background check

Preferred

Experience in planning, drafting, negotiating, and administering contracts for web design and development, software licenses, mobile application and website development, and/or providing legal advice regarding IT systems
Experience drafting and/or negotiating terms of use, licenses, and other agreements related to social media platforms
Knowledge of data protection and privacy laws and their application, as well as experience with commercial transactions involving the storage or processing of personally identifiable information or sensitive data
