Responsibilities

Provide leadership, supervision, and direction to Grants Leadership & Development staff in daily operations. Implement disciplinary actions as needed. Coach team members through issues or escalations. Oversee training development and delivery and provide advisement regarding grant-related matters
Measure and evaluate the performance of team members across the department. Establish clearly defined goals, objectives, responsibilities, competencies, and development plans for employees. Lead in a way that continuously promotes collaboration, innovation, and efficiency
Develop and implement a comprehensive grant development strategy aligned with the JCCC’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities. Ensure continued compliance within the department regarding grant requirements, regulations, and reporting deadlines
Oversee approximately 35-45 grant projects annually and work with the project leads to ensure that outcomes are achieved, timelines are met, and project expenditures are allowable from the launch of the grant through closeout. Facilitate the administration of grant contracts, agreements, and sub-awards. Monitor projects to ensure that each is implemented according to plan. Serve as the designated representative with delegated signature authority that commits JCCC in matters related to grant proposals, award documents, and reports
Oversee the development of competitive grant proposals to ensure they align with the JCCC’s strategic goals and can be implemented upon award. Manage staff to ensure grants are developed according to funder guidelines and aligned with JCCC policies while meeting the project leads’ needs
Oversee communication with internal partners and stakeholders (i.e., accounting, legal, HR, purchasing, accounts payable, and institutional research) to ensure smooth implementation when a grant is awarded
Establish and maintain procedures and guidelines for grant management, compliance, and reporting. Provide training and guidance to grantees regarding development, submission, management, and compliance for grant proposals and awards
Oversee compliance with fiscal, programmatic, and data reporting as required by the granting agency and JCCC policies. Submit accurate reports and other deliverables to granting agencies. Troubleshoots issues and concerns that arise during projects
Correspond with federal, state, and private foundation funders if programmatic or budget modifications are required to complete projects
Develop and lead strategy development for internal marketing efforts that grow JCCC’s grants portfolio
Meet regularly with Vice Presidents, Deans, and other campus leaders to understand needs, develop strategies, and set priorities regarding grant opportunities. Provide monthly grant reports, annual presentations, and summaries of grant performance and outcomes to the Board of Trustees
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with grant-making organizations, government agencies, and other potential funders. Collaborate with JCCC leadership and faculty to enhance partnerships with external stakeholders

Required

Requires a Master's degree
3-5 years of professional experience with Grants management

Preferred

Strong track record of success in Grants acquisition and compliance
Strong track record of leadership in collaborative settings
Professional experience in a Higher Education setting
Strong communication and writing skills
