Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders
Measure and mark materials for cutting or alteration using hand tools and layout instruments
Ensure accuracy and vehicle integrity of modifications and repairs
Assist in assembling, fitting, and securing steel parts in place using various means (bolts, clamps, etc.)
Inspect completed work for quality and compliance with specifications
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company and OSHA standards
Communicate with supervisors and engineers regarding job progress, issues, or design changes
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
Proficiency in using power tools and measuring devices
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and perform physically demanding tasks
Valid driver's license
Preferred
Technical/vocational training in vehicle maintenance is a plus
Minimum 2 years of experience working with FMTV 10 Ton Dump Trucks or equivalent preferred
Familiarity with truck assembly or automotive chassis modification is highly desirable
CDL is a plus but not required
