Lead Technician - Pembroke Pines, FL

Waste Pro USA is seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Technician to join their team in Pembroke Pines. The role involves overseeing the maintenance of waste management vehicles and leading a team of technicians, with a focus on ensuring safe and productive operations.

Information Technology

Responsibilities

Diagnoses advanced mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems, including chassis and body issues, and performs repairs and maintenance on all equipment to maximize safe and productive operations. Reviews and completes repairs identified on DVIRs (Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports) and repair orders
Performs repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty equipment, including but not limited to Rear Load, Front Load, Roll-Off, Grapple, Port-a-let, and other service-type trucks, including chassis and body components
Road tests vehicles to diagnose problems and verify completion of repairs
Responds to emergency road calls to repair trucks and/or coordinates towing when repairs cannot be completed onsite
Communicates with managers and drivers regarding vehicle conditions and discusses preventative techniques to reduce future repairs
Completes all required paperwork and computer data entry, including documenting parts usage and labor time on repair orders, in a timely and accurate manner
Follows all company safety policies and procedures
Maintains a clean and safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards
Utilizes vehicle electronic systems to interpret failure modes and initiate or assign repairs, including the use of diagnostic laptops for both chassis and body troubleshooting
Performs repairs using Factory Service Manuals
Conducts safety inspections on vehicles and equipment
Performs all other duties as assigned
Maintains a high standard of ethics, professionalism, and dependability
Attend and participate in corporate-sponsored training courses as assigned
Stay current on the latest technologies and equipment used by Waste Pro to ensure effective maintenance and repair processes
Undertake any additional job duties as assigned by the supervisor

Required

Expertise in diesel mechanics
Experience in heavy-duty vehicle repair
Ability to diagnose advanced mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems
Experience performing repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty equipment, including but not limited to Rear Load, Front Load, Roll-Off, Grapple, Port-a-let, and other service-type trucks
Ability to road test vehicles to diagnose problems and verify completion of repairs
Ability to respond to emergency road calls to repair trucks and/or coordinate towing when repairs cannot be completed onsite
