Attorney OR Senior Attorney - Lawyer Regulation Headquarters
The Florida Bar is seeking an Attorney or Senior Attorney for their Lawyer Regulation Headquarters in Tallahassee. The role involves acting as counsel in investigative and trial levels of processing grievances against attorneys, including prosecution of trials and providing counsel to grievance committees.

Responsibilities
Prosecutes trials
Completes all legal functions in disciplinary cases as necessary to resolve cases. This includes investigation, preparation of pleadings, conducting discovery, handling hearings and trials before Court-appointed referees, and preparing appellate records
Provides counsel and advice to grievance committees with respect to the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar and prepares written reports explaining all committee decisions
Conducts investigation of complaints alleging violation of Rules Regulating The Florida Bar. Makes decisions as to whether complaints should be dismissed or forwarded to a grievance committee for appropriate action
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctorate and a Florida Bar Member in Good Standing
One (1) year of legal experience as an attorney for Attorney level
Three (3) years legal experience as an attorney for Senior Attorney level
Legal Writing Sample is required with resume (must be in Word or .pdf)
Knowledge of The Rules Regulating The Florida Bar
Knowledge of Bar disciplinary procedures
Knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure
Knowledge of legal terminology and the judicial process
Skilled in case management
Skilled in preparation of pleadings
Skilled in conducting discovery
Skilled in directing, coordinating, and conducting investigation
Skilled in developing trial strategy
Skilled in legal and analytical communication, both oral and written
Skilled in using MS Word
Skilled in conducting internet research
Ability to think logically and solve problems effectively
Ability to interpret policies and procedures
Ability to function independently, responsibly, and with initiative
Ability to organize and prioritize work
Ability to work collegially with other professionals and as part of a team
Ability to operate well under pressure and tactfully manage difficult situations
Ability to provide appropriate advice on legal issues and procedures
Ability to travel
Ability to manage a case load
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing
Ability to use discretion and independent judgment
Ability to lift 5 to 10 lbs
Ability to sit for long periods of time
