Centra Health is seeking a Communications Generalist responsible for managing transportation requests for ground and helicopter services. The role involves receiving and dispatching requests, prioritizing calls, and coordinating transport for patients while ensuring effective communication with staff.

Responsibilities

Receives ambulance shuttle and helicopter request via phone, Cerner EMR, or Fax and inputs call information

Prioritizes incoming calls according to unit staffing and availability

Triage patients to determine level of care needed for transport and priority

Determines response mode and level of care required based on policies and procedures

Dispatches calls and maintains communication with staff

Dispatches Ambassador Services

Arranges transport for Skilled Nursing Facilities and Hospice

Obtains and arranges Medicaid Transportation

Performs other duties as assigned

Certified Ambulance CoderDispatching experienceScheduling experienceMedical TerminologyTransport billing experienceInsurance authorization experienceHigh School diplomaPre-hospital experienceHospital experience

Required

High School diploma or equivalent

Certified Ambulance Coder within 6 weeks of employment
