Business Analyst, Periop Services

They are seeking a Business Analyst for their Perioperative Services to provide operational, strategic, and financial support, while developing cost reduction strategies and collaborating with various departments.

Responsibilities
Partnering with leaders and surgeons to track costs, productivity, and outcomes
Reviewing contracts, capital costs, and supporting the annual budget process
Collaborating with Supply Chain and Purchasing
Expanding responsibilities as proficiency grows
Conducts in-depth departmental data retrieval and analysis to support Perioperative Services, CHA, ACS certification, and other regulatory areas. Conducts analysis of new or proposed programs and develops business plans for short and long-term goals
Drives initiatives to improve process efficiencies while reducing costs through monthly review of operating budgets. Develops, recommends, and facilitates cost containment measures. Aids in analysis of margin reports for Perioperative Services to identify areas for growth in alignment with Phoenix Children’s strategic initiatives. Serves as resource for providers
Reviews financial information to provide analysis and variance to Director. Collaborates with I.T. to accurately track volume, utilization, efficiency metrics, and reporting of pertinent statistics
Coordinates the Surgical Services revenue process. Annually, assists Director in preparation of budgets and projected volumes for all departments. Coordinates with the Revenue Cycle process including charge master updates, audits, and processing of daily charges
Establishes operating performance targets and metrics including analysis against targets and national benchmarks
Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 4 years of finance experience in a healthcare setting
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or related field
One (1) year of experience in budget development and fiscal management
Knowledge of information systems and the ability to apply them to the health care environment, i.e. Excel (expert level required), Microsoft word, Teams, Perioperative Services software, fiscal software, etc
Ability to create succinct and meaningful reports for varied audiences
Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate positive customer relations
Preferred
Two (2) or more years of related experience in a health care setting
Experience in a perioperative setting
