Case Management Paralegal – Catastrophic/Personal Injury
Abacus Service Corporation is a full service toxic tort and catastrophic injury litigation firm with offices in Texas, California, and New York. They are seeking a Case Management Paralegal to manage personal injury cases from intake through trial, supporting case-managing attorneys and ensuring effective communication with clients and insurance adjusters.

Responsibilities
The qualified applicant will be responsible for the management and work-up of numerous assigned personal injury, trucking, motor vehicle crashes, medical malpractice, product liability and premise liability cases from intake through trial, supporting one or more case-managing attorneys including the shareholder overseeing that department
Experience ordering, summarizing, and breaking down medical/billing records for paid/incurred calculations
Monitoring and managing the medical care of clients
Demonstrated ability to draft demands in compliance with Stower's doctrine and communicate effectively with insurance adjusters
Ability to negotiate lien reductions with providers and facilities to maximize recovery for clients
Strong organization, oral and written communication, and analytical skills
Detail oriented, adherence to deadlines, ability to multi-task
Ability to learn quickly and function in a fast-paced environment
Draft and send assorted documents to clients, counsel and courts as needed, such as correspondence, deposition notices, contracts, briefs, motions, orders, petitions, and discovery
Prepare trial documents and assist attorney with trial preparation
Responsible for proper filing and service of all documents
Experienced with e-filing and e-service in multiple jurisdictions; must have experience using online file and serve portals such as Pacer, ECF, EfileTx.gov, Lexis File & Serve, etc
Experienced with managing case deadlines across multiple cases filed in different jurisdictions
Experienced in communicating with local counsel in other jurisdictions to get documents filed or served
Familiar with relevant laws regarding personal injury claims, motor vehicle accidents, and insurance
Creative problem solver who takes initiative to accomplish tasks with a minimal level of supervision
Ability to work with/around various attorney personalities
A team player with a great attitude
Ability to maintain a busy caseload between 30-50 cases
Experienced with a variety of computer applications and internet programs: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, LexisXpress File & Serve, LexisAdvance or Lexis.com (research), ECF/Pacer, Amicus or Neos (client database)
Qualification
Required
3-5 years litigation experience with a medium to large size firm in the paralegal field of plaintiffs' personal injury litigation, preferably experience with MVA & trucking cases also
