Responsibilities
Administer, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL and Oracle databases
Ensure database performance, availability, and reliability
Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching
Monitor databases and proactively troubleshoot issues
Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
Support production and non-production environments
Work closely with application, infrastructure, and security teams
Ensure compliance with security and best-practice standards
Provide documentation and operational support as required
Qualification
Required
8+ years of experience as a Database Administrator
Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and Oracle
Solid experience with performance tuning and optimization
Solid experience with backup & recovery strategies
Solid experience with high availability and disaster recovery setups
Experience supporting enterprise-scale environments
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a hybrid on-site / remote model
Must be based in the Houston area
Preferred
Experience with cloud-based databases (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Scripting skills (Shell, Python, or similar)
Experience in regulated or large enterprise environments
Oracle or PostgreSQL certifications
