PC&L Specialist (Shipping and Receiving)– Seneca Battery 2nd Shift (2:00PM - 10:30PM)

Responsibilities

Strong communication skills between teams, support groups and /or plant leadership teams
Support and drive 5S / Housekeeping activities as required
SAP entries and L2L (Leading to Lean) transactions required as needed (if applicable)
Support operations in gathering data, analyzing, and driving improvements with a specific focus on waste reduction, enabling material flow, quality, and cost throughout their area of support
Create, analyze, and deliver reports impacting KPI’s to all levels of the organization to gage effectiveness around continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate and share ideas generated by the continuous improvement efforts throughout the Seneca Campus
Support and drive self-development activities and department flexibility through learning multiple positions and supporting based off business need
Safely operate all equipment and maintain certifications within the PC&L fleet including but not limited to (where applicable) All Powered Industrial Equipment (Tugger, Sit Down, Pacer, Reach, Swing Reach, Electric Jacks) and BW company vehicle
Develop, maintain, and document PC&L department work instructions
Provide support on inventory management by performing root cause analysis for all variations with inventory as needed
Support and maintain Part Change Management
Audit task performance to standards
Attend daily operations meetings
Other duties as assigned including operating P.I.T., material movement, PC&L Operator roles, etc
Fully understand the receiving/shipping process and work instructions to be able to successfully receive/ship material systematically and physically
Manually load and unload material onto or from pallets, trays, racks, baskets, and shelves on foot and by hand as required
Transport materials from storage or point of use work areas
Install strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage of products in transit and identifies/corrects unsafe or damaged packaging conditions as needed (ex freight claims)
Count, weigh, and record opened/unsealed materials for accurate SAP transactions and labeling
Accurately and timely enter materials transactional information into SAP and other system as required
Read electronic and manual bill of materials, pull sheets, pick sheets to retrieve and deliver necessary materials for operations
Use appropriate deviation areas, hold tags, to process defective parts through nonconforming material procedure
Load/unload material into trailers adhering to Dock Safety Protocols
Adherence to FIFO standards throughout all storage areas and material flow points
Complete audits and hand-offs to peers as needed
Perform container management duties (if applicable)
Accurately and timely send all Advanced Shipping Notice(s) (ASN) for shipments
Hand write Advanced Shipping Notice(s) (ASN) as required
Create pick tickets daily
Re-shuffle customer loads as needed based on finished good parts availability
Effectively communicate to production teams when finished goods are low on inventory and adjustments need to be made to meet customer shipments
Proactively communicate to carriers for late or no-show trailers
Monitor expediate entities for timely pick up, etc
Audit task performance to standards
Communicate to 3PL provided as needed for shipping coordination
Be the onsite contact in partnership with Shipping Specialist for original equipment manufacturer (OEM) carriers regarding a truck arriving outside their normal window and the contact for OEM’s regarding an AND inquiry
Establish that all incoming and outgoing shipments are properly labeled and that correlating documents are available
Accurately and timely enter materials’ transactional information into SAP and other systems as required
Use appropriate deviation areas, hold tags to process defective parts through nonconforming material procedure
Adherence to FIFO standards throughout all storage areas and material flow points
Assist in training and educating employees within the department
Repack material to introduce to production line in a quality standard
Ensure 5S is always maintained on the production line
Completion of Hazmat Certification
Ensure hazmat shipping and receiving requirements are held to standard and followed

Required

High School diploma or GED required or skills assessment
6 months experience in automotive manufacturing material handling/shipping & receiving role required including utilizing lean concepts

Required to safely perform all tasks assigned. This includes all positions within the PC&L department
Stand for long periods of time including during operation of stand-up lifts
Lifting shoulder high up to 35 lbs. repetitively and up to 50 lbs. occasionally
Stepping up and down off lift; walking long distances over extended periods
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Working in a non-climate-controlled environment
Repetitive motion activities including but not limited to box cutting, standing, lifting, loading/unloading carts
All employees are responsible for knowing, understanding, and complying with the safety policies and procedures
Wear all PPE (including electrical PPE) as required and follow box cutting safety protocols
Support 5S/Housekeeping activities as required
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Must have great communication and presentation skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of SAP software, Leading to Lean, Excel Spreadsheet, PowerPoint Presentations and Word

Preferred

6 months battery material movement preferred
1-3 years' experience leading teams in a fast-paced environment preferred
6 months of experience in SAP/ERP systems preferred
Familiarity with key performance indicators of a logistics department
Proven track record of excellent verbal and written communication
Strong customer service skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Flexible work schedule/ability to work overtime as needed
