Cleared Senior/Principal R&D Electrical Engineer- Advanced RF Systems, Onsite
Sandia National Laboratories is the nation’s premier science and engineering lab for national security and technology innovation, seeking an experienced electrical engineer or systems engineer to lead the development of advanced RF systems for national security applications. The role focuses on creating specialized RF communication systems and requires collaboration with government sponsors and stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.

Responsibilities
Lead and participate in the development of advanced RF systems used in current and future national security applications
Work in a dynamic team environment and model strong leadership skills
Share resources and programmatic responsibilities across the group
Develop specialized RF communication systems with an interest in mixed-signal (RF, analog, digital) electrical designs
Contribute to the delivery of products throughout their entire lifecycle
Work onsite due to the nature of the work
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five (5) years of directly relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of directly relevant education and engineering or scientific experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform independent research and development
Ability to obtain and maintain DOE Q-level (or DOD equivalent) security clearance
Preferred
Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering or a highly related field where an independent research project was a graduation requirement (e.g., independent project, thesis, or dissertation)
Ability to work independently and collaborate well in a multidisciplinary team of designers and test engineers
Outstanding verbal and written skills, including the ability to develop and present briefings that are clear and compelling
Strong program execution skills with a passion for developing and delivering custom systems
Strong critical-thinking, synthesis, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve ambiguity
Ability to collaborate effectively within a team, maintaining clear communication, consistent progress, and timely identification and escalation of risks or obstacles
Project leadership experience, including budget, risk, requirements, and schedule management
Experience developing products within rigid development processes (examples could include satellite systems, ND, aviation, medical, safety-of-life, etc.)
Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication, including the development and delivery of presentations, proposals, reports, and other documentation
Demonstrated experience working with production agencies
Demonstrated experience in the qualification of products, including testing and documentation
Demonstrated experience in analog/digital electronics design and analysis
Demonstrated experience in high-speed digital circuit signal and power integrity analysis and simulation
Demonstrated experience with spectrum and coherence signal analysis
Experience with wireless systems design
Active security clearance (Secret or Top Secret)
Ability to obtain and maintain SCI access, which may require a polygraph
