The CAD Technician will work with the Survey Team to create, analyze, and validate asset data, preparing deliverables such as boundary surveys and topographic maps while ensuring quality and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Process daily field data in Trimble Business Center, including but not limited to GPS Static files, RTK Conventional files, and Conventional Total Station files

Convert data between standard spatial data formats including but not limited to AutoCAD, Esri geodatabase feature classes, and ESRI shapefiles

Prepares highway right-of-way map deliverables

Prepares ALTA boundary survey plat deliverables

Prepares topographical surfaces from field data and corresponding map deliverables

Prepares subdivision plats as needed, including replats

Research and interpret government files, utilities, and public record documentation

Produce accurate and legible maps, survey reports and legal descriptions, or displays for various departments

Verify map feature and attribute accuracies

Identify and recommend process improvements and enhancements on existing projects

Required

Demonstrated knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Trimble Business Center

Able to review, process and close traverse data, control networks

Experience using MicroStation with GeoPak and/or OpenRoads

GIS related experience a plus

Licensed Surveyor in Training (L.S.I.T) Certificate is a plus

Knowledge of reading highway plans, plats and deeds

Able to graphically present information clearly and concisely

Demonstrated ability to organize and manage multiple priorities

Ability to provide excellent customer service

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a dynamic environment

Strong organizational, time management, attention to detail and analytical skills

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment; offer constructive feedback and direction to support goal
