Responsibilities
Provides second-level advanced legal secretarial duties for the Civil Rights and Special Initiatives Division Chief
Performs complex administrative legal secretarial activities in matters involving complex litigation and administrative secretarial activities
Serves as a liaison to the Division Chief, staff attorneys, federal and state courts
Reviews, prioritizes, and prepares draft responses to a large volume of pleadings and correspondence
Conducts independent research and handles confidential information
Compiles department reports, documents, and correspondence
Dockets case files
Schedules meetings and hearings
Performs other tasks required to meet the department’s goals and objectives
Qualification
Required
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school
Five years of typing-related administrative support experience, including two years involving legal secretarial practices equivalent to a Legal Secretary E8
