$33.43/hr - $44.53/hrThe Automobile Club of Southern California is seeking a Staff Accountant for their main office in Costa Mesa, CA. This position involves overseeing Travel Accounting functions, preparing revenue reports, handling inquiries related to commissions, and making recommendations for policy changes.

Responsibilities
You’ll prepare revenue reports, account reconciliations and resolve reconciling items
You will handle inquiries related to commissions and airline tickets transactions, invoice research, credit balances and misapplied commissions/payments
You’ll email travel agents and/or managers to resolve travel accounting issues for the current ACE markets handled
Create/post journal entries in the GlobalWare and FIRM systems to record revenue, expenses, including all supporting documents
You will provide support in identifying, correcting, and monitoring system problems, as well as changes and enhancements for both new and existing systems
You’ll need to demonstrate aptitude to quickly integrate system knowledge and functionality
You’ll Communicate with internal employees, outside AAA Clubs, and management
You will make recommendations and implement changes to policies and procedures
Qualification
Required
BS degree in Accounting/Finance is required
Understand accounting principles and complexities as related to multiple states or markets
Ability to analyze complex billing transactions required
Working knowledge of interfacing departments such as Cashiering, Payables, Collections, Banking and Accounting
Strong verbal and written communication skills
General typing, Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel skills required
Ability to consistently meet deadlines and be able to effectively escalate issues to management
Preferred
Knowledge of internal systems such as MRM Portal, Oracle FIRM, EICS, Travel would be desired but not required
Knowledge of Microsoft Access would be desired but not required
