Responsibilities
Sets up production machines, equipment, fixtures, and tooling related to Mills according for job instructions, process sheets, and customer specifications
Provides leadership, training, and assistance to machine operators to ensure jobs run correctly and efficiently
Performs first-piece inspections to verify conformity to print, work instructions, and quality standards
Troubleshoots machine issues, adjusts tooling, and resolves process problems to minimize downtime and scrap related to Mills
Coordinates the flow of work through assigned production areas to maintain schedules and meet customer delivery requirements
Ensures machines are properly maintained, cleaned, and set up with the correct tools, materials, and documentation
Communicates with Production, Quality, and Engineering regarding part issues, process concerns, and improvement opportunities related to Mills
Assists in training new operators on machine operation, safety procedures, quality expectations, and work instructions
Monitors part quality during production runs and escalates issues when necessary
Ensures work areas follow safety standards and remain clean, organized, and safe
Participates in safety initiatives and accident prevention activities within the department
Supports continuous improvement efforts related to process efficiency, tooling, and machine capability
Helps enforce company standards, policies, and safety practices among production staff
Commitment to ISO 9001/IATF 16949 and CCT Enterprises philosophies
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2-4 years' experience in Mill set-up, machining, or related manufacturing operations
Experience reading blueprints and using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to set up and adjust machinery
Ability to interpret prints, routings, and work instructions
Good communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Ability to train employees and coordinate daily work flow
Ability to work independently and make decisions to support production needs
Preferred
Knowledge of machine tooling and troubleshooting preferred
