Director Development, Cubs Charities
The Chicago Cubs are a major league baseball franchise known for their rich history and community impact. The Director of Development will lead Cubs Charities’ revenue generation strategy, overseeing fundraising and marketing efforts to support the organization’s mission.

Responsibilities
Design and implement a multi-channel fundraising strategy to achieve annual revenue growth goals
Oversee a team responsible for all Cubs Charities revenue streams, including: Individual giving (annual, major, and planned gifts), Corporate partnerships and sponsorships, Foundation grants, Special events and in-ballpark fundraising initiatives, Capital campaigns
Build and maintain strong relationships with donors and partners through personalized engagement and stewardship plans
Ensure timely and impactful donor recognition and reporting
Partner with the Cubs Charities Board and executive leadership to leverage networks and relationships for fundraising opportunities
Prepare and present development updates and strategies to leadership and board committees
Utilize CRM (Salesforce) and analytics to monitor performance, forecast revenue, and inform strategic decisions in partnership with Cubs Charities leadership
Implement best practices for donor segmentation, pipeline development, and campaign optimization
Oversee Marketing & Communications function for Cubs Charities, including storytelling and brand/messaging alignment across all internal and external communications
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required
Minimum 7–10 years of progressive fundraising experience, including leadership roles
Proven success in securing major gifts and corporate partnerships
Strong understanding of fundraising best practices, donor stewardship, and CRM systems
Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and strategic planning skills
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with high-level stakeholders
