Lead Bookkeeper
Clergy Financial Resources is responsible for providing financial services to its clients, and they are seeking a Lead Bookkeeper to manage high-level bookkeeping tasks and support staff management. The role involves overseeing bookkeeping activities for nationwide clientele and assisting with the management of the Bookkeeping Department.

Responsibilities
Day-to-day management of bookkeeping support staff, to include: bi-weekly time sheet approval, PTO approval, task and project management, employee conduct, annual reviews, etc
Onboarding of new bookkeeping clients
Training and daily support to bookkeeping staff
First point of contact for bookkeepers seeking assistance with high-level problem solving and troubleshooting client needs
Maintains Accounts Payable. Pay bills once a week, typically every Thursday. Records in QuickBooks Online to the appropriate expense account as directed by the client
Maintains Accounts Receivable – Enters all deposits and records to appropriate income accounts as directed by the client
Manages designated funds. Creates journal entry at the end of each month to balance the designated fund balances on the Statement of Financial Position (Balance Sheet)
Responsible for payroll entries for each client. Adds journal entry to place in proper accounts
Responsible for benefits payments entries for each pay period and manages benefits payments for clients using Portico
Regular communication with assigned clients to address requests, questions, concerns
Completes client reconciliations for bank accounts, loans, investment accounts
Completes all client reporting
Creates and/or updates budgets provided by the client
Creates/moves/deactivates accounts for funds as requested by clients
Performs final review of support staffs’ clients’ books before sending to client
Supports the bookkeepers with end of month entries
Performs end-of-month and end-of-year reviews of client accounts
Troubleshoots complex issues as needed to support bookkeepers and client needs
Assists with development of the department budget, financial forecasts and workforce planning
Qualification
Required
Undergraduate degree in a finance discipline, or equivalent experience
5+ years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
2+ years of management experience
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Advanced knowledge of Accounting Principles & Procedures
Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks Online
