Responsibilities

Assist with the mechanical assembly of systems and large components
Perform gluing, bonding, and assembly operations according to written procedures
Support carbon-fiber layup and composite assembly activities
Assist with detector production and subsystem integration
Perform basic testing, measurements, and inspections of assembled components
Use basic measuring tools and quality control (QC) equipment
Document assembly activities, test results, and measurements
Report progress and results to designated Fermilab technical staff
Follow Fermilab safety policies, quality requirements, and work instructions
Support schedule-driven project milestones in a laboratory environment

Required

Minimum of 3 years of experience in system or component assembly

Ability to work effectively in a team-based laboratory environment

Preferred

Experience with carbon-fiber or composite layup
Experience supporting scientific, laboratory, or DOE-related projects
Familiarity with detector assembly or test environments
