Responsibilities
Provide insights into business risks and changes to be considered in the department’s internal audit plan
Prepare and at times review engagement planning documentation and audit programs to ensure adequate coverage of risk and sufficient rationale for audit scope
Prepare audit findings clearly explaining potential exposures, materiality, improving or deteriorating trends, and demonstrate awareness of big picture issues. This includes providing value-added recommendations the business can implement
Draft engagement internal audit reports and communicate the results to the business process owners
Assist in the development of data analytics programs incorporated into audit planning and audit engagements
Promote and maintain a collaborative and strong working relationship with operations and shared service leadership
Mentor team members on audit techniques, critical thinking, writing skills, and mortgage regulations to build talent for future opportunities across the company
Track audit related findings and validate the effectiveness and sustainability of remediation actions
Qualification
Required
Proven experience in leading complex risk-based audits
Ability to interface with business personnel of all levels
Experience in mentoring a small team of auditors
Knowledge of emerging risks and ability to assist in reprioritizing audit resources
Ability to provide high value, independent, proactive insights
Experience evaluating organizations' internal controls, corporate practices, processes, and methods
Ability to help the organization innovate with technology
Experience in developing and being a source of top talent
Ability to provide insights into business risks and changes for internal audit planning
Experience in preparing and reviewing engagement planning documentation and audit programs
Ability to prepare audit findings clearly and provide value-added recommendations
Experience in drafting engagement internal audit reports
Ability to communicate results to business process owners
Experience in developing data analytics programs for audit planning and engagements
Ability to promote and maintain collaborative relationships with operations and shared service leadership
Experience in mentoring team members on audit techniques, critical thinking, writing skills, and mortgage regulations
Ability to track audit-related findings and validate remediation actions
