Building Maintenance Technician (Low Voltage Electrician Specialist)

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair structured cabling systems including Cat5, Cat6, and fiber optic cables
Terminate and test network cables, phone lines, and data connections
Install and maintain security camera systems, access control panels, and card readers
Troubleshoot and repair fire alarm systems, smoke detectors, and emergency notification systems
Install and service building automation system (BAS) sensors, controllers, and communication networks
Maintain and repair audio/visual equipment, conference room systems, and digital displays
Install and configure wireless access points, network switches, and telecommunications equipment
Perform cable management and organize telecommunications closets and server rooms
Performance of ongoing preventive and repair response work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other installed systems, equipment, and other components
Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations
General maintenance and repair duties for interior spaces
Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment and/or as directed
Moves office furniture, machinery, equipment and other materials as requested
Replace lighting and ballasts
Clean HVAC coils, change filters and belts
Maintain compliance with State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws
Utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo for all work performed and update work orders in real time
All other duties and tasks assigned

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
Have a minimum of 3-5 years of applicable working experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical
Licenses as required by authority having jurisdiction
Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs and climb up to 30 ft ladders
Position requires frequent climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and driving

Preferred

Experience with low voltage systems and structured cabling
Low voltage certification or BICSI certification
Knowledge of TIA/EIA standards for telecommunications cabling
Experience with cable testing equipment (cable certifiers, tone generators, etc.)
