They are seeking a Junior Enterprise Containers Engineer who will analyze, develop, test, configure, implement, and maintain various hardware platforms and enterprise services for clients of the Department of Information Technology and State of Michigan.

Responsibilities

Implement standards-based end to end solution designs leveraging defined processes

Implement and support platform configurations in coordination with telecommunications, storage, directory services and security; ensuring the solution is in line with defined standards and policies

Implement and support hardware/software acceptance plans that leverage acquired test data for enterprise systems

Run tests to determine the accuracy of configuration logic to produce the desired results. Debug and revise configuration based on test results

Implement standard hardware/software configurations and specifications for new hardware and software configurations as designed

Implement enhancements to existing systems in the environment

Analyze and resolve problems to identify network hardware system and operational inefficiencies and failure patterns

Maintain records, provide support, and prepare reports and correspondence related to assigned network hardware and software systems following defined policies, standards and procedures

Configure, implement and maintain networked server hardware and operating systems

Configure, implement, test and maintain third party software systems on the hardware network servers

Support and maintain automated data processing systems and computer operating system support applications within the network environment following standard operating procedures

Provide technical support on trouble tickets assigned through customer support tool (Remedy). This level of support is provided to all state departments/agencies who are clients of DTMB

Analyze and resolve problems to identify network hardware system and operational efficiencies and failure patterns

Support and maintain automated data processing systems and computer operating system support applications within the network environment following General Operating Procedures

Continuous monitoring of the Enterprise Container Services platform

Automate tasks that can be repeated for consistency

Use Azure DevOps for source control of all infrastructure as code

Assist application and database administrators with initial application installation that requires OCP administrative level

Required

Bachelor's degree in network engineering or IT Related field; OR Associates + 2 years of relevant work experience; OR 4 years of relevant work experience

Educational or work experience with OpenShift (or Kubernetes), Ansible and DevOps

Strong troubleshooting and customer service skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills, collaborative and eager to learn!
