Responsibilities

Performs echocardiogram examinations. Produces quality images following appropriate protocols and procedures. Provides and maintains clinical documentation per scope of practice
Educates patients/families regarding the procedure and/or treatment to be performed. Positions the patient and completes the procedure
Demonstrates commitment to safety and quality and prevents or reduces harms through knowledge and application of departmental policies, procedures, and resource documents
Understands and adheres to all applicable regulatory and accrediting standards. Follows RHS policies and procedures. Reports variances
Provides effective and efficient assessment, actions, and documentation

Registered Diagnostic Medical SonographerRegistered Diagnostic Cardiac SonographerCPR/BLS CertificationEchocardiogram examinationsPatient education

Required

Program Graduate, Accredited Sonography Program
CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer with an Adult Echocardiography specialty (RDCS-AE) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)

Preferred

Associates Degree, Accredited Sonography Program
Bachelors Degree, Accredited Sonography Program
1 year Imaging Experience
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification in Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
