COMPOSITE/PLASTIC FABRICATOR INSPECTOR

USAJOBS is seeking a Composite/Plastic Fabricator Inspector at Hill AFB. The primary purpose of this position is to inspect repairs made to radomes, towers, antennas, and pedestals associated with communication and radar equipment at various locations worldwide for the Air Force and other federal agencies.

Responsibilities

Inspect the work accomplished on a variety of radome and tower structures
Analyze and isolate acute and chronic radome, antenna, and pedestal maintenance problems
Perform contractor assistance visits as requested to ensure contractor performance is in compliance with Air Force specifications
Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment
Maintain records and document actions

Must be able to qualify for license/permit to operate required vehicles and aerospace ground equipment
Must be able to pass a physical examination required to work around toxic chemicals and be able to wear the proper personal protective equipment (PPE)
May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, or rotating shifts
May be required to travel (TDY) any place, any time, and in any manner to support the unit's mission, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, flight test operation
Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision
Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc
Technical Practices (Theoretical, precise, artistic)
Use of Measuring Instruments
Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Includes blueprint reading)
Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
Knowledge of Materials
