Responsibilities
Inspect and repair aircraft, engines, and components
Return aircraft to service
Perform maintenance and repair to aircraft, engines, propellers, rotors, and components in accordance with approved procedures
Learn various aircraft maintenance requirements, standards, and procedures
Determine the airworthiness of airframe and engine components
Inspect systems for proper operation and condition
Perform Confined Space Entry Maintenance to include aircraft fuel tank repairs
Qualification
Required
Possession of the following certificates: FAA Airframe & Powerplant Technician's Certificates
Valid Class-C Driver's License
Knowledge of FAA federal aviation regulations pertaining to the maintenance and repair of aircraft
Knowledge of FAA-approved maintenance practices, techniques, and procedures
Knowledge of aircraft shop maintenance operational procedures
Ability to work under the general guidance of a lead or journey level technician
Ability to perform maintenance and repair to aircraft, engines, propellers, rotors, and components in accordance with approved procedures
Ability to learn various aircraft maintenance requirements, standards, and procedures
Ability to determine the airworthiness of airframe and engine components
Ability to inspect systems for proper operation and condition
Ability to perform Confined Space Entry Maintenance to include aircraft fuel tank repairs
Willingness to travel approximately 10% - 50%, including overnight stays, to fire bases throughout California
