LTIMindtree is seeking a Senior SQL Server Engineer to join their hybrid DBA DevOps engineering team. This lead role focuses on architecture automation and oversight, requiring the design and documentation of solutions for complex SQL Server environments while guiding L2 engineers through implementation and support.

Responsibilities

Design and document SQL Server architectures for HA DR and performance

Prototype test and validate new deployments configurations and tools

Own the lifecycle of Always On Availability Groups design test failover recovery

Write and maintain Python and PowerShell automation for provisioning backup patching and DR

Create detailed runbooks SOPs and onboarding guides for L2 teams

Lead complex project work delegating execution to L2 and providing oversight

Act as the technical escalation point for critical issues

Collaborate with security networking and cloud teams to align database strategies

Monitor and improve platform performance scalability and resiliency

Required

SQL Server technical experience

Deep knowledge of SQL Server internals waits memory management and storage

Expertise in Always On AG read routing syncasync failover testing

Hands on experience with SQL Server on Windows and ideally on Linux

Strong query tuning indexing statistics and execution plan skills

Experience with automated backup restore pipelines including prod to QA refreshes

Understanding of SQL Server security models certificates auditing

Familiarity with SSRS and SSIS

Automation and IaC

Proficient in Python and PowerShell for database operations

Solid experience with Terraform HCL including modules and IaC pipeline workflows

Experience using Chef or other configuration management tools

Strong GitOps mindset branching PR review CICD GitHub Actions preferred

Deep understanding of database infrastructure on cloud and onprem

Experience with one of AWS Azure or OCI cloud is a must

Familiarity with DNS certificates and load balancing especially for AG listeners

Understanding of IAM secrets management eg AWS Secrets Manager KMS

Ability to lead and manage full projects architecture to delivery

Strong written documentation skills runbooks standards guides

Experience mentoring and guiding L2 engineers

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred

Docker containerization experience for tools

Exposure to other engines Oracle MySQL Postgres MongoDB Redis Elastic Cache etc
