Assistant Professor - Information Technology and Software Engineering - Full Time tenure-track
Vermont State University is inviting applications for a tenure-track position in Information Technology and Software Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a variety of undergraduate courses and engaging in research and collaboration efforts.

Responsibilities
The new faculty member will be expected to teach a variety of undergraduate courses across all levels, including advanced web development, programming languages, object oriented programming, computer hardware and organization, database systems, data structures and algorithms, systems analysis and design, and software engineering with the capacity to support the learning of multiple programming languages including Java, C/C++ and Rust
Candidates with plans to involve undergraduate students in research and publications are encouraged to apply
We also seek candidates with interest in developing internal and external collaborations
In addition to teaching and research, faculty at VTSU are expected to participate in and contribute to university committees, scholarship and professional development, student advising, service to the college community, development of curriculum and educational facilities as needed, and other duties related to teaching effectiveness, scholarship, and service to the university community
Qualification
Required
Earned either a Ph.D. or M.S. in computer science or related areas
Previous teaching experience at the undergraduate level
Experience teaching in a variety of modalities (in-person, face-to-face-plus, asynchronous online)
Preferred
Ph.D. in computer science or related areas
Plans to involve undergraduate students in research and publications
Interest in developing internal and external collaborations
