Responsibilities
Track and analyze job costs, labor, subcontractor expenses, and materials
Prepare and submit monthly progress billings (AIA billing, cost-plus, T&M, or lump sum)
Manage change orders, retainage, and lien waivers
Reconcile job cost reports and investigate cost variances
Assist project managers with budget forecasting and cost-to-complete analysis
Process subcontractor and/or vendor pay applications/invoices and ensure compliance with contract terms
Support revenue recognition using percentage-of-completion methods
Prepare project-related certified payrolls
Support month-end close, audits, and project closeout documentation
Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and construction contract requirements
Qualification
Required
3+ years of construction or job cost accounting experience
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and job costing
Experience with AIA billing and retainage
Proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Procore, Textura, GC Pay or similar)
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple active projects
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with project teams
Ability to accommodate additional responsibilities, as assigned
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
Experience with public works, certified payroll or prevailing wage projects
Knowledge of WIP schedules and cost-to-complete reporting
Familiarity with lien laws and subcontract compliance
