Adjunct Faculty - Engineering & Technology

Inside Higher Ed is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member for Engineering & Technology at East Texas A&M University. The role involves teaching courses in various engineering disciplines, developing course materials, assessing student performance, and mentoring students as needed.

Responsibilities

Teach up to seven semester credit hours (up to two (2) courses) within the required discipline of Construction Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and/or Technology Management. Instruction may be delivered on-campus, off-campus, or online and may be during the day and/or evening as dictated by student demand and departmental needs
Develop and manage the class syllabus and ensure that the syllabus meets department and college standards
Plan and create lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments
Assess grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations
Assist/mentor students as needed
Other duties as assigned

Required

Master's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the teaching field from an ABET accredited U.S. institution of higher learning with a major field of study in construction engineering, civil engineering, construction management, industrial engineering, systems engineering, engineering management, technology management, or a closely related discipline is required to teach undergraduate courses OR a terminal degree in the teaching field from an ABET accredited U.S. institution of higher learning with a major field of study in construction engineering, civil engineering, construction management, industrial engineering, systems engineering, engineering management, technology management, or a closely related discipline is required to teach graduate courses
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

Candidates who hold current relevant professional credentials
College or University teaching experience
Evidence of teaching excellence
Prior relevant industry experience
Online or hybrid teaching experience
