Responsibilities

Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of AI/ML engineers and researchers
Drive technical strategy across our AI initiatives, from research exploration to production deployment
Stay hands-on with model development, training pipelines, and system architecture
Partner with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to align AI capabilities with company objectives
Establish best practices for ML development, experimentation, and deployment
Hire and develop talent as the team scales
Stay current with the rapidly evolving AI landscape and identify opportunities to apply emerging techniques

Qualification

Required

8+ years of hands-on experience building AI/ML systems, with production experience in modern frameworks (PyTorch, JAX, TensorFlow)
5+ years of engineering management experience, including direct leadership of IC teams
Experience with LLMs, multimodal models, or related areas (fine-tuning, deployment, evaluation)
Track record of shipping AI/ML systems to production
Experience in high-growth or early-stage environments where you've built teams and systems without established playbooks

Preferred

Experience leading other managers or scaling teams through growth phases
Experience at companies known for engineering excellence (top-tier tech, well-regarded startups, or research labs)
Experience with Vision-Language Models, VLA architectures, or embodied AI
Expertise in ML infrastructure, model optimization, and efficient inference
