Sr Manufacturing Engineer

The Sr Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing manufacturing processes to optimize production efficiency and quality standards.

Responsibilities

Responsible for designing, implementing and reviewing the procedures, equipment, and tools involved in the manufacturing process
Their duties include researching automation techniques, testing new systems for efficiency and planning factory layouts to optimize production
Develops, evaluates, and improves industrial manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards
Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
Determines the parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications
Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions
Communicates manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, or other information to facilitate production processes
Confers with vendors in order to determine specifications of products and arrange equipment, material purchase, and parts
Evaluates products based on specifications and quality standards

Required

Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience
Engineering degree required
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines
Solves complex problems
Works independently, receives minimal guidance
May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or may have accountability for on-going activities or objectives
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience
Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment
