12+ years expQualis1 Inc. is seeking a senior Oracle expert to serve as the source-of-truth authority for a large-scale Oracle Exadata environment undergoing modernization. The Lead Data Architect will analyze Oracle Exadata systems to uncover implicit behaviors and guide architects in translating Oracle-specific behavior into neutral, migration-safe architectural concepts.
Responsibilities
Analyze complex Oracle environments including:
RAC, PDBs, partitioned & sharded tables
Interpret and document:
Triggers, sequences, materialized views, PL/SQL frameworks
Identify implicit behaviors relied upon by applications
Use AWR, ASH, and SQL Monitor to analyze:
Transaction boundaries
Locking and concurrency assumptions
Identify Oracle-specific constructs that cannot be directly replicated
Build Oracle feature dependency matrices covering:
PL/SQL, optimizer behavior, hints, isolation levels
Classify components as:
Safe-to-migrate
Requires redesign
Requires application change
Define golden datasets and correctness baselines
Validate migration test outputs against Oracle behavior
Advise target-platform architects on:
Hidden coupling
Semantic traps
Oracle behaviors applications implicitly depend on
Qualification
Required
12+ years of deep Oracle experience
Expert-level knowledge of Oracle Exadata internals
AWR / ASH
Large-scale SQL tuning
Strong PL/SQL framework expertise
Experience with very large databases (10s–100s of TB+)
Proven ability to translate Oracle semantics into platform-neutral designs
