Senior Analyst, Cost of Goods Sold Finance

The Senior Analyst, Cost of Goods Sold Finance is responsible for planning, financial analysis, and reporting for the costs of goods sold, collaborating with various departments to ensure accurate reporting and support new product development.

Responsibilities

Annual and quarterly planning for all components of COGS including but not limited to: commodities, ingredients, overhead, conversion, cost savings projects, reformulations and new innovation. Data accuracy and timely submission, meeting financial deadlines and the related reporting requirements are critical to the organization
Monthly financial review and evaluation of cost of goods sold actuals for completeness, accuracy and appropriateness. Understanding drivers of monthly variances between actuals and forecast. Working with the appropriate group to resolve any issues identified in the review in a timely manner
Partner with the Procurement department annually to develop the materials standard costs to reflect reasonable cost estimations for all materials utilized. Partner with the Senior Plant Controller to diligently review and submit standards for processing within the system
Support new product development by partnering with the Research and Development team to properly cost new items. Complete preliminary and final costing for new products for accurate pricing and profitability analysis. Represent Finance at the related project meetings
Track and report to senior leadership on the impacts associated with annual cost savings initiatives in the manufacturing sector and support these projects as needed, including representing Finance at project meetings
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in cost analysis and evaluate relevant processes and procedures for improvement, sustainability and accuracy. Develop and implement solutions to any identified gaps
Complete reporting requirements across all areas of responsibility in a timely and accurate manner mainly on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis
Provide ad hoc deliverables as requested by leadership utilizing analytical expertise specific to COGS topics
Perform all duties within established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and FSMA guidelines as well as all safety regulations
Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Food Safety and Quality
Perform all other duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field
Minimum of (5) years of related manufacturing finance experience
Experience managing a budget of $100M or greater
Excellent analytical skills
Excellent communication skills are necessary to explain financial concepts and findings to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration
Ability to plan, organize and carry out multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and competing priorities
Strong computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel knowledge

Preferred

Experience in Consumer Product Goods
Experience with Manufacturing systems
