Customer Service Representative- Customs Brokerage

The Customer Service Representative in Customs Brokerage will ensure timely and accurate operations while providing exceptional customer service, managing customs processes, and maintaining compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

A Brokerage CSR will be expected to ensure timely and accurate operations while providing exceptional customer service within the Brokerage Department
Ensure a smooth and timely customs process flow for all customs related activities
Daily execution of workflow and department metrics
Transfer declaration information from commercial documents, or other sources into our customs entry system
Accurate and timely data entry to allow for the build of a complete US Customs declaration
Build and maintain strong relationships with the customers and government organizations
Ensure compliance to regulations at all times, both internal and external
Track and Trace shipments for valid data transmission to US customs and Partner Government Agencies
Understand customer expectation to ensure all the elements of the SOP and KPI’s are met
Identify and manage exceptions while also identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
Effectively manage and organize emails for timely follow up

Required

High School Degree or equivalent required
Successful candidates must pass a background check
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Must not require future sponsorship for employment visa
Fluent in English, both written and verbal
Must have the ability to work overtime in support of the department's needs
Must be able to commute to the city of Jurupa or Torrance, CA
Comfortable with numbers and basic mathematical skills
Comfortable working in an office environment

Preferred

Customer Service: 6 months to 1 year experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred but not required
Understanding of transportation and US Customs documentation is a plus
Effective interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results
Pro-active, strong organizational skills
Strong desire to learn
Sense of urgency and works well under pressure
Immense attention to detail
Team player mentality
Good computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote)
