Will Consider Attorney III
The Caltrans Sacramento Legal Office is looking for a well-qualified and highly motivated attorneys with experience and/or interest in civil litigation
The candidates will join our office with primary focus on defending Caltrans in tort and/or employment cases
Trial experience is preferred but not required
Attorneys may receive promotions in place based on available funds, successful performance, and compliance with labor union requirements
Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Attorney IV / Attorney III exam
The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs
Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee’s designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions
Qualification
Required
CA BAR membership License
Possession of a valid Driver's License when operating a state owned or leased vehicle
Applicants are required to take the CalHR examination for the classification and be reachable on the eligibility list
Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment
If you are basing your eligibility on education, you must include your unofficial transcript(s)/diploma for verification
Applicants with foreign transcripts/degrees must provide a transcript/degree U.S. equivalency report evaluation

Experience and/or interest in civil litigation
Trial experience is preferred but not required
Experience with civil litigation, including legal research, law and motion, discovery, and trial is preferred
