Key Account Manager I, II or Sr

Responsibilities
Provides guidance and consultation on electric and gas tariffs, rates, and regulations and performs rate calculations and analysis to ensure rate designations are in accordance with regulatory filings and Sarbanes Oxley controls
Evaluates customer energy demand and usage and provides solutions and consultation to customer management and senior leadership
With guidance investigates power quality issues (i.e., outages, voltage sag and swells, momentary operations, other disturbances, etc.) through the distribution and transmission control centers and associated database applications and translates/filters information to customers as determined appropriate
Provides consultation and guidance on technologies and solutions to improve customer power factor with assistance from peers
Coordinates communications with customers to enable the transfer of customer energy loads to prevent negative impacts to company equipment (i.e., substations, transformers, etc.)
Investigates billing inquiries, issues and errors and works with internal departments to reconcile in accordance with regulatory or company policies
Obtains annual electric and gas usage and demand forecast from top tier customers to be used by generation planning, gas supply, and budgeting for annual and five-year forecasts
Provides 24 x 7 service to assigned customers via on-site visits, scheduled customer meetings, email or phone communications to meet the needs of customers and the specific situation
Manages the coordination and communication of a customer’s energy infrastructure projects to support load growth or operational needs through a wide range of internal departments
Interprets load data information accordingly for rate determination, billing and contract purposes factoring in connected load and diversity factors; Engages with engineering design to ensure appropriate infrastructure meets the customer’s electric or gas service needs; Utilizes peers to advise external engineers on the completion of load data sheets
With direction reads and interprets company and customer electric and gas engineering design schematics (i.e., commercial and industrial designs, distribution systems, substations, etc.)
With supervisory approval, prepares and executes electric and gas service, excess facilities, economic development rider, curtailable service rider contracts and calculates customer contract capacities
Prepares reports and briefings for a wide range of stakeholders (internal and external) including company and customer senior management and executives
Promotes energy efficiency programs, economic development opportunities, renewable energy initiatives, and general company offerings to customers
Proactively identifies potential customer situations and manages difficult, sensitive, or confrontational issues to achieve mutually successful outcomes with minimal supervision
Provides electric and gas outage response support and restoration support efforts as needed throughout the company service territory
Responsible for fostering relationships external stakeholders to improve the states and the company’s competitive position for site locations
Research utility and economic development best practices and maintains current knowledge of industry trends and efforts
Performs other duties as assigned

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or related discipline
Demonstrated proficiency in the use of database applications
Demonstrated use of MS Excel
Demonstrated proficiency with written and verbal communications, presentations, and meeting facilitation
Preferred
Should possess a basic understanding of the electric and gas business or other technical consulting
Fundamental analytical skills required
Candidates must possess exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to use tact, courtesy, professionalism, and discretion while dealing with individuals at all levels within an organization
Experience in managing and facilitating multiple customer issues and projects with competing priorities in a timely and effective manner with minimal day to day supervision is required
Master's degree is preferred
Working knowledge of utility rate structures and calculations, tariffs, utility operations, power quality, service restoration processes, utility load control programs, interconnection programs, and demand side management programs, distributed generation technologies and their application to industrial and commercial customers is desired
Demonstrated experience in relationship building, project management and community development
Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, remain highly flexible, and take initiative in a demanding and changing work environment with rapidly changing priorities
