The role involves administering and optimizing Apache Cassandra clusters, automating operational tasks, and ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
Administer, maintain, and optimize Apache Cassandra clusters in production environments
Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, upgrades, and patching
Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and data integrity across clusters
Automate operational tasks using Ansible and AWX
Integrate database operations into GitLab CI/CD pipelines
Develop and maintain Python scripts for monitoring, automation, and operational support
Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis
Support backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies
Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams
Participate in on-call support as required
Support internal and external audits in a financial services environment
Ensure database configurations and processes meet security, compliance, and regulatory requirements
Maintain proper documentation, controls, and audit evidence
Qualification
Required
Strong hands-on experience as a Cassandra DBA in production environments
Experience with Ansible and AWX for automation
Working knowledge of GitLab CI/CD
Proficiency in Python scripting
Experience working in financial services or other regulated environments
Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.)
Prior experience supporting SOX, SOC, or other regulatory audits
