Field Service Engineer - Chemspeed Automation

The role involves installation, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and application support for complex scientific automation instrumentation at customer sites, serving as a technical ambassador and collaborating with various teams to ensure successful deployments.

Responsibilities
Install new or modified Chemspeed automation systems and accessories at customer facilities
Perform on ‑ site preventive maintenance, calibration, qualification, upgrades, and repairs of Chemspeed instrumentation
Diagnose technical problems through in ‑ depth troubleshooting and root ‑ cause analysis
Provide customer training, application support, and remote/on ‑ site assistance
Document all service activities and maintain accurate system configuration records
Collaborate with internal technical teams to improve designs and report field issues
Maintain readiness for travel and respond to routine or urgent service calls
Represent Bruker professionally and build long ‑ term customer relationships
Represent Bruker professionally and build long-term customer relationships by serving as a supportive and effective communication link between the customer and company to ensure service satisfaction
Actively attend and participate in life science technology and product training
Qualification
Required
B.S. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Biotech, Biology or Chemistry discipline
Minimum 3 years Field Service Engineer work experience involving scientific instrumentation, technical support, robotics and automation in a laboratory environment
Hands on working knowledge of networked instrumentation, Windows
Strong mechanical, electrical, and software troubleshooting skills
Excellent customer focus with ability to reliably respond to inquiries, communicate and interact with Scientists
English fluency with strong oral, reading, written, MS Office, computer, technical data, and networking communication and presentation skills, with ability to communicate complex technical issues in an easy to understand manner
Excellent organizational skills with ability to work independently, prioritize, multi-task, follow through, and meet deadlines within an entrepreneurial and customer-focused work environment
Ability to satisfactorily complete position compliance and training requirements
Attend and actively participate in quarterly scientific technical training programs
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., transport equipment and tools in excess of 300 lbs
This position requires lifting heavy objects and maneuvering large bulky items
This position requires reasonable dexterity to perform manual functions in confined spaces
Proven ability to follow safety standards, practices, and codes
Ability to travel up to 80%
Valid Driver License in good standing, issued by resident state, with reliable transportation
U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required
Maintain a valid passport with flexibility for domestic and international travel
May be required to pass security clearance investigation
