Senior System Engineer
Storm4 is a leader in light eVTOL technology, seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to contribute to the development of next-generation electric aircraft. The role involves working at the system level on complex, safety-critical products and collaborating across various engineering teams to ensure successful product launches.
Responsibilities
Own system-level development for cross-functional aircraft and prototype programs
Define, manage, and evolve system requirements and traceability across the lifecycle
Allocate requirements to subsystems and guide engineering execution
Evaluate system performance thresholds, reliability, and design trade-offs
Lead and continuously improve FMEA processes and reliability assessments
Support modeling, simulation, and system performance analysis
Collaborate on compliance analysis, interface definitions, and V&V planning
Partner with test teams to ensure comprehensive verification and validation coverage
Perform reliability, failure, and qualification analysis for product launch
Provide regular program updates, including requirements burndown and reliability status
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
5+ years of experience in systems engineering within complex product environments
Strong background in requirements development, FMEA, compliance, and V&V
Experience creating system test plans and interpreting technical specifications
Expertise with requirements management tools (e.g., JAMA, DOORS, Polarion)
Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Preferred
Reliability analysis tools (Reliance preferred)
Familiarity with FAA PT103/PT23 or MIL-STD-810
Experience taking products from concept to production
Exposure to GNC, MBSE, and modeling & simulation
Knowledge of Simulink, Ansys, SolidWorks, MATLAB, or C/C++
