Responsibilities
Sets up Revit models, Autodesk Construction Cloud projects, drafts BIM execution plan, exports Revit models to AutoCAD
Performs clash detection, and create borders, at the direction of the BIM Specialist
A BIM Coordinator should be able to identify key components in the model and understand the relationship to the discipline scope
Additionally, a BIM Coordinator should be able to review project documentation or existing information to determine the correct project coordinate system and scope for the project
A BIM Coordinator should be able to identify and understand each model component and how it contributes to the project scope
Coordinators are expected to observe professional ethics in their association with others including fellow employees, clients, and vendors
Reviews rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from the project team
Reviews project scope of work and notify project management of any perceived changes in scope that may appear during the design phase
Reviews the design input and communicates any ambiguous, incomplete, or conflicting information to the supplier of the input for resolution (includes processing information such as vendor drawings, marked up drawings, design basis, notes, and verbal instructions)
Reviews design output to verify it meets design input (i.e., verify output meets design basis, design input and standard industry practices)
Performs work related to design changes after validated documents are issued and notify project management of any perceived changes in scope resulting from the change
Conform to Jedson Engineering Inc., drafting and quality standards
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Sets up Revit models, Autodesk Construction Cloud projects, drafts BIM execution plan, exports Revit models to AutoCAD
Understand how each discipline contributes to the overall project scope and execution
Performs clash detection, and create borders, at the direction of the BIM Specialist
Identify key components in the model and understand the relationship to the discipline scope
Review project documentation or existing information to determine the correct project coordinate system and scope for the project
Identify and understand each model component and how it contributes to the project scope
Observe professional ethics in association with others including fellow employees, clients, and vendors
Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from the project team
Review project scope of work and notify project management of any perceived changes in scope that may appear during the design phase
Review the design input and communicate any ambiguous, incomplete, or conflicting information to the supplier of the input for resolution

Basic level of competency in 2D and 3D software is required – specifically AutoCAD, REVIT, Navisworks, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Plant 3D
Ability to understand how models are generated and set up
An associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
5 to 7 years' experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
