AltaGas Ltd. is a North American energy infrastructure company focused on providing clean and affordable energy. They are seeking a Corrosion Technician I to inspect, maintain, and correct cathodic protection systems for underground pipelines.

Responsibilities

Perform tests on existing pipelines and surrounding soils to determine the rate of corrosion and type of protection needed

Conduct regular surveys, tests, and inspections to ensure compliance with cathodic protection systems and standards

Perform cathodic repairs and maintenance

Maintain appropriate documentation and report on findings and actions

Adhere to company internal control procedures and financial processes

Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field

Required

Possession of a high school diploma or successful completion of the General Educational Development Test required, supplemented with college courses or vocational training in Electrical Engineering preferred

Minimum two (2) years of electrical and/or gas distribution experience

Good analytical and organizational skills

Good written and oral communication skills

Good working knowledge of various personal computer business software applications presently used by the Company

Ability to learn new systems or software packages as necessary

Must maintain a positive work atmosphere through effective interactions and communications with co-workers, customers and management

Must maintain a safe environment for co-workers, customers and the public through adherence to established safety standards and timely reporting of potential hazards

Must adhere to Company policies and procedures related to the code of business ethics, compliance, responsible use of Company assets, and all applicable state and federal laws
