Responsibilities

Advanced Training and/or experience with Exodontia and other surgical procedures (biopsy, implant placement, coronectomy, tori removal, etc) including simple and complex exodontia. Privileges will include supplementals to support expanded practice and full scope of General Dentistry
Comprehensive oral maxillofacial surgery examination, consultation, treatment planning, history and physical examination, and hospital admission
Management of cervical-facial infections, comprehensive management of oral manifestations of chronic systemic disease, repair of traumatic wounds, dentoalveolar surgery; extraction of soft and hard tissue impaction, intentional tooth replantation or transplantation, root-end resection, ridge augmentation, osseo-integrated implants and oral antral nasal fistula repair, soft tissue grafts, guided tissue regeneration, moderate and deep sedation, excision of benign and malignant tumors and cysts of the hard and soft, harvest of hard and soft tissue graft

Required

A degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery or dental medicine resulting from a course of education in dentistry. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed
Completed, or you are currently completing, a residency program in general practice or specialty, or comparable experience as a dentist actively involved in treating medically compromised patients
Currently hold, or will hold, a current, full and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia
Must be proficient in written and spoken English
All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment
Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959
Subject to background/security investigation
Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process
Must pass pre-employment physical examination
Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP)
You may be required to serve a probationary period
