IT Systems Specialist

Swagelok Texas Mid-Coast is an authorized distributor of Swagelok products, delivering premium fluid system components and expert services. The IT Systems Specialist will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of IT hardware and information systems to ensure optimal performance across the Sales and Service Center, while also supporting software integrations and network optimizations.

Responsibilities

Perform IT installations, including hardware setup (desktops, laptops, servers, printers, and peripherals) and software deployments for sales and service teams
Diagnose and resolve IT troubleshooting issues, such as connectivity problems, system errors, and user access challenges, using systematic methodologies to minimize downtime
Lead IS implementations, including the deployment and integration of enterprise systems like CRM, ERP, and inventory management tools tailored to STMC’s operational needs
Troubleshoot IS-related problems, including network configurations, database queries, and application performance, collaborating with corporate IT for escalations
Provide backup support for data analysis tasks, such as extracting and analyzing sales data, generating performance reports
Maintain system documentation, conduct regular audits of IT/IS assets, and recommend upgrades to align with evolving center requirements
Ensure compliance with security protocols, perform data backups, and train staff on IT/IS best practices to promote a secure and efficient environment
Monitor system performance metrics and generate analytical reports to support proactive maintenance and process improvements
Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, service technicians, and management to align technology solutions with customer service goals

Required

Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field; Associate degree with equivalent experience considered
2+ years of experience in IT support, systems analysis, or a similar role, with demonstrated expertise in installations and troubleshooting
Proficiency in Windows/Linux environments, networking fundamentals, and common tools like Microsoft Office Suite, Active Directory, and ticketing systems (Zendesk)
Basic knowledge of data analysis tools (SQL, Excel pivot tables) for backup responsibilities
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders
Physical ability to install and move IT equipment (up to 50 lbs) and availability for occasional on-call support

Preferred

Experience with IS platforms relevant to sales/service environments, such as Salesforce CRM, SAP ERP, or inventory systems like Fishbowl
Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau or Power BI) and scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) for automation and analysis
Certifications including CompTIA A+/Network+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or Google Data Analytics Certificate
Knowledge of industrial IoT or CAD software integrations beneficial for STMC's fluid systems context
Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks and agile project management methodologies
