LEAD FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST

Responsibilities
Participates in the work of the team, coaches and facilitates the selection and application of problem solving techniques or work methods, and assists the team in identifying solutions and priorities to accomplish the work
Monitors and reports on the status and progress of work; checks work in progress and upon completion for quality, adherence to instructions, and to ensure objectives are met
Represents the team in dealings with the supervisor in obtaining supplies, needed information, or decisions on work problems or issues that arise
Reports to the supervisor periodically on team and individual work accomplishments, problems, and progress in team building
Guides team in assessing its strengths and weaknesses and in exploring alternatives and determining what improvements can be made

Time after Competitive Appointment: Candidates must have served 3 months after latest competitive appointment in the Federal service

Obtain/Maintain Financial Management Certification
New employees to the Defense Finance and Accounting Service will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required
Specialized experience is defined as: Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to analyze and reconcile complex datasets and extract actionable insights to support strategic decision-making. Identifies problem areas and recommends actions/tasking to improve operations, correct deficiencies, and prevent recurrence or problems. Collaborates with senior leadership to define reporting needs and advance organizational efficiency initiatives
Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-12 or higher grade in Federal Service
Education is not substitutable for specialized experience at this grade level
