The Walt Disney Company is seeking a summer intern to join their Content Understanding Data Science team. The intern will work alongside senior data scientists to develop Multi-Modal ML models and engage in various data-related tasks that support content programming and marketing efforts.

Responsibilities

Build pipelines based on video, audio, text, artwork data and get the data ready for modeling

Fine-tune multi-modal foundational models

Collaborate with data engineers to ensure the accuracy and quality of data

Work with cutting-edge LLM models to extract meaningful metadata

Present the methods and outputs effectively using data visualization tools or oral presentations

Required

Solid Python programming skills

Exceptional curiosity, and a drive to learn new tools and work with new models

Strong ability to build relationships with teammates, business partners, and technical colleagues

Hands-on experience with PyTorch/TensorFlow

Hands-on experience with modern LLM APIs and familiarity with AI orchestration tools such as Huggingface, Langchain, Google ADK or similar and MCPs

Currently enrolled as a Graduate level student pursuing a graduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics or related field

Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship

Be at least 18 years of age

Possess unrestricted work authorization

Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work

Fully available from Monday-Friday for the duration of the position, 40 hours per week
