Responsibilities

Participating in Design for Manufacturability Reviews
Ensuring dimensional inspection requirements are achievable
Selecting appropriate Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) based on the required Total Uncertainty Ratio (TUR) to meet design specifications
Performing precise dimensional inspections and verifying compliance with design specifications for components and assemblies
Writing optimized, user-friendly Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs
Providing technical support to internal and external customers
Mentoring less experienced team members

Required

Expert knowledge in programming, operating and calibrating CMMs in a manufacturing environment
Expert knowledge utilizing QUINDOS, PC-DMIS, PolyWorks or Calypso CMM Software
Expert knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and its application to ensure accurate dimensional measurements
Expert knowledge using M&TE in a high-precision dimensional inspection laboratories, including surface roughness testers, shadow graphs, density determination stations, height gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other precision gauges
Advanced understanding of M&TE traceable to NIST, including in-depth knowledge of relevant standards (e.g. ISO, ASME)
Expert written and verbal communication skills to present data and reports to peers, senior colleagues, management, and customers clearly and professionally
Advanced experience training and mentoring inspectors in a high-precision manufacturing environment
Demonstrated record of dependability, reliability, and commitment to the long-term needs of the job duties and programmatic goals of the organization
Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology Science, Math or related degree from an accredited institution and 8 years of directly related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation

Preferred

Proficient in measurement uncertainty analysis, with the ability to calculate and evaluate the Test Uncertainty Ratio (TUR) and select the appropriate measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) needed for measurements of part features
Advanced experience utilizing CAD software, including SolidWorks, Creo, NX, CATIA, Inventor or Fusion 360
Hands-on experience in maintaining, error mapping, calibrating, and repairing CMMs to achieve sub-micron measurement uncertainties
