Internship – Water Resources Engineer (Hybrid)

Barr Engineering Co. is seeking an engineering student to work on project teams involved with civil engineering, hydraulic and hydrologic design and analysis. Responsibilities

Technical: AutoCAD/Civil 3D drafting and design; hydrologic and hydraulic modeling; field observation and field data collection; surveying and construction observation
Communication: Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with project team members and clients
Interpersonal savvy: Effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and clients to align technical work with project objectives while fostering strong, productive working relationships

Required

Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related engineering field
Completed or enrolled in relevant engineering courses such as engineering hydrology, applied hydrology, water resource engineering, open channel hydraulics, etc
Must have a minimum of one full-time semester of undergraduate or graduate coursework remaining after the internship
Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Windows OS and Microsoft Office software
Possession of a current, valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future

Preferred

Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D or other CADD-based civil design software
Previous engineering, field, or geotechnical experience
Completion of at least one semester of upper-division engineering coursework
GPA of 3.2/4.0
