Division Laundry is a company specializing in laundry services, and they are seeking an Assembler to join their 2nd Shift Team. The Assembler is responsible for manually feeding laundry into machinery, operating various machines, and ensuring quality control during the laundry process.

Responsibilities

Push/pull a cart of clean linen to workstation
Identify the customer by the customer tag
Separate mixed clean linens
Feed linens into machinery for folding or ironing
Fold linens and mops by hand
Place linens on an automated conveyor
Place linen onto a metal hanger (cubicle curtains)
When necessary, stack linen as it comes out of folding or ironing machines
Visually and manually inspect linen to maintain quality
Maintain a clean workstation
Demonstrates friendly and respectful behavior in the work environment
Assist in any job necessary as instructed by Management
Additional duties as assigned
Perform job rotation as required
On occasion, an Assembler may be requested to handle linen that requires special attention, including:
Counting folded linens and stacking them by count
Assisting in conducting inventories for accounts

Required

Ability to read comprehend and write in English and/or Spanish
Quality orientation and high attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations
Strong teamwork skills - ready and willing to work closely with team members
Open, and able, to work, day or night shifts, and willing to rotate shifts depending on production needs
Open to long hours and working weekends (Saturday/Sunday) when needed
Pass a background check and drug screen, in accordance with applicable laws
Physical demands include constant standing and frequent walking throughout entire work shift, and ability to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on work surface
Constant reaching above and below shoulder height, twisting, applying pressure, grasping, and pulling (including using fingers, thumbs, and palm) items, and loading machinery in a repetitive motion
Lifting and raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position to position. This occurs constantly throughout the shift requiring substantial use of the upper arms, shoulders, and back muscles
Constant pushing/pulling of both empty and full, wheeled laundry carts of varying weights and sizes, up to and potentially exceeding 250 pounds
Constant throughout entire 8-hour shift, fingering, fine manipulation, picking and grasping primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arm
Repetitive hand movement includes simple and power grasping and pushing and pulling items
Heavy work, including exerting force and lifting up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 20 pounds force constantly to move objects
Pulling, using upper arms and shoulders to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion
Ability to maintain productivity requirements in a fast-paced facility where all operations are driven by fully functioning, full life cycle computer system
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Ability to understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information
Ability to remember and communicate routine, factual information
Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology
Ability to apply common sense and make decisions which have a moderate impact on the immediate work unit
Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines
Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word, communicating orally with others accurately, loudly, and quickly
Ability to count accurately
Required to wear and use personal protective equipment as needed
Ability to hear for safety and awareness of surroundings
Must be able to meet the physical demands for the entire shift
