Alexander Associates Technical Recruitment is representing an employee-owned engineering consultancy in Houston that is looking to strengthen their Water Resources team with an experienced Water Resources Engineer/Project Manager. This role involves leading and delivering complex water resources and stormwater projects, managing project scopes, budgets, and schedules while also mentoring junior engineers and supporting client management activities.

Responsibilities

Lead and deliver complex water resources and stormwater projects, supporting public sector and municipal clients

Perform hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) analysis to support drainage, floodplain, and surface water infrastructure design

Develop engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates

Support permitting and regulatory submissions, including floodplain and stormwater-related approvals

Manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and task delivery

Carry out QA/QC reviews to ensure technical accuracy and high quality outputs

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across civil, transportation, and environmental disciplines

Mentor and support junior engineers and technical staff

Support client management and business development activities as projects and responsibilities grow

Required

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Texas

10+ years' experience delivering water resources projects, including: Hydrology & hydraulics, Stormwater management and compliance, Floodplain and flood mitigation work

Experience working with TxDOT and/or Harris County Flood Control District

Proven experience producing engineering drawings and technical reports

Comfortable mentoring staff and leading project tasks
